What are veneers?

Veneers are one of our most versatile cosmetic dentistry treatments and are used to repair a number of cosmetic dental flaws. Made from porcelain, veneers are thin, tooth-shaped shells that are cemented onto your natural teeth in order to enhance your appearance. Each veneer that is applied is custom made for each individual tooth that is being repaired; veneers can be used to improve a single tooth or your entire smile. Dr. Obiora E. Nkwonta, our practiced dentist, will sit down with you to discuss all of your smile goals during a cosmetic consultation to determine how we can best utilize dental veneers in your overall dental health plan.

How are veneers applied?

It generally takes two visits to our office to have your dental veneers in Seattle, Washington designed, created, and applied. To design your veneer, we first prepare your tooth by removing a small layer of tooth enamel. This allows us to make a perfectly thin veneer that will not appear too thick or bulky. Then, molds of your teeth are taken and sent to a laboratory to be turned into veneers. Once the veneers are back at our dental office, Dr. Obiora E. Nkwonta will check them for quality and permanently cement them in place. We invite you to schedule your consultation with us at Rainier Dental Center today to learn more about veneers and how they can improve your smile.
